Exploring the UK, Europe, The World – Solo Travel Stories
Every journey begins with a small step. Mine started close to home. I started travelling solo recently, beginning with a quiet UK day, a walk through a new town, a road trip, then a weekend away. I wanted to build my confidence and explore at my own pace trip, and along the way I experienced moments of courage I didn’t expect. Since then, travel has become the place where I learn, grow, and rediscover who I am as a woman exploring life over 50.
This blog is a collection of those experiences – not rushed itineraries, but slow explorations, quiet moments, and places that stay with you longer than expected. I’ve categorized them as those from UK adventures, European weekends, and the memories that reach further across the world. The gentle reflections from travelling solo, the laughter and connection found in group trips, the freedom of road journeys, and the calm of train rides where the scenery does all the talking.
I have much more to come and if you’d like to know why, please see my About Me page.
If you’re looking for inspiration, reassurance, or simply a companion on your own journey, I hope this helps you see what’s possible. Start with whatever speaks to you — a destination, a travel style, or a moment of confidence waiting to unfold.
